As a professional Tarot reader, intuitive psychic, and diviner, it is not lost on me that many people, and I mean MANY people are afraid of getting their Tarot cards read or booking a psychic reading.
And I understand the fear, because often it is correlated to something we all possess as humans: the fear of the unknown.
Often in life, we would rather have things revealed eventually than have an understanding of what could go awry and feel responsible and/or accountable to take our fate into our own hands. Being responsible for ourselves is scary, it’s true, but it’s simply reality.
Sometimes, the most dangerous form of tarot reading and psychic readings are the ones that lead you to believe that your future is not within your control. The ones that pretend to predict circumstances that are predestined and unchangeable like death, illness, being alone forever, never finding love, not finding a good career path, or falling in love with the wrong person.
Let me explain why these types of readings are dangerous and demystify tarot, if you will.
5 Reasons Tarot Is Not Scary
1. Tarot Is Not a Predictive Practice, It Is a Reflective One
One of the most misconstrued understandings of tarot is that many people (even some readers) believe tarot is a fortune-telling, predictive tool.
That whatever cards are pulled in a professional tarot reading are guaranteed to come true.
But here’s the thing.
My belief, and the belief of many ethical and grounded intuitive tarot readers, is that tarot is a reflective tool. It reflects back to you what your subconscious already knows.
Whatever card appears in the “future” position represents a potential future, one that may happen if you continue on your current path and carry the same energy forward from your present.
This is meant to act as validation that you’re on the right path, or as a gentle, empowering warning about possible blockages and how you can shift your narrative.
You already have all the answers within yourself. If you feel very clear and aligned, you may not even need to book a tarot reading.
But tarot can be incredibly enriching if you ever feel cloudy, uncertain, unempowered, or unmotivated. It helps you reconnect to the part of you that’s behind the wheel and get you back on track.

2. Fear-Mongering Is Unethical and Meant to Keep You Hooked
If a tarot reader or psychic tells you that you will fall ill, that someone close to you will die, or that you are cursed to love the wrong people, I am advising you now to RUN.
You are entitled to end the reading.
Sometimes a reader may gently suggest that certain patterns could lead to issues, and this should be handled carefully and compassionately.
But if someone tells you that you won’t meet anyone for ten years, that everyone is wrong for you, or that you are doomed in love or life, they are full of shit (pardon my language).
Your fate comes from within.
YOU hold the power.
Not a deck of cards.
Not a psychic.
Tarot cards are meant to highlight where you may not be helping yourself and give you a loving kick in the pants to create change.
It disgusts me how many people sit in my chair terrified because of unethical psychic readings from others they’ve had in the past.
Tarot should not be scary.
If you are afraid after a reading, the reader did it wrong.
If they say you are cursed, fucking RUN. Its a SCAM

3. If They Don’t Give Practical Guidance, They’re Not Doing It Right
You sit down.
They pull your cards.
They tell you that you’re heartbroken and facing hardship.
And then the reading ends.
They didn’t do it right.
A real intuitive tarot reading should always help you turn challenges into growth.
A skilled tarot reader uses the cards to recognize blockages and help you transform them into lessons.
Even diamonds need pressure to shine.
And you are no exception.
Sometimes the hardest parts of life show up boldly in the cards. A good reader helps you navigate them so you can positively affect your future.
4. Divination Is Meant to Empower, Not Deflate
If you don’t walk away feeling empowered, something was missed.
Most of my tarot clients leave feeling lighter and more confident. That is always my goal.
But sometimes people come in already convinced that they are unlucky, stuck, or powerless. They want life to change without doing anything themselves.
That’s not reality.
Tarot is not magic that fixes everything without your participation.
When cards like The Wheel Of Fortune, The Sun, or The World appear ( very positive cards), it’s usually because YOU have already been doing the work.
You created that.
My job as a tarot reader is to interpret the story of the cards with you and help you create a game plan for growth.

5. If It Feels Off, It Probably Is

Do I feel respected?
Do I feel supported?
If something feels off, trust that.
It doesn’t mean the reader is bad.
It just means they’re not your reader.
